This is the essential Music Together class, one that a child can attend from birth to age five through all nine song collections. This basic class follows the recommendations of child development researchers—grouping children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, or exploring musical instruments. Any caregivers—parents, grandparents, nanny—can bring the children for this important family music experience.

Each week in Music Together Mixed-Age Classes at Motor City Music Together, babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and the grownups who love them gather for 45 minutes of fun-filled family music time.  This class meets outside in a park-like setting where outside where masks optional. We will remain outside through the session unless weather dictates otherwise (temps below 32, above 95, heavy rain or snow). In inclement weather this class will move  online to Zoom. Families will also have the option of doing make-up by attending an available outside classes.

In inclement weather this class will move inside to our spacious venue nearby. Families who prefer to not attend indoor classes have the option of an outside make-up classes, as space permits. 

Each week in Music Together Mixed-Age Classes at Motor City Music Together, babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and the grownups who love them gather for 45 minutes of fun-filled family music time.  This class meets inside in a spacious venue where families can spread out and remain physically distanced. Currently, masks are optional, but are encouraged for all adults and children 4+.  Our masking and other safety policies are subject to change, depending on state or local ordinances.

This two-week mini session features the Family Favorites Collection and gives families the familiar Motor City Music Together class experience you know and love, with a bit of holiday flair! All children participating will receive a Jingle Jam 2024 ornament to take home at the end of the session. New and returning families are invited to join us!
